About The Tejas Beer 5K Beer Run:
This out and back 5K starts and finishes at Tejas Brewery and runs a well supported, well marked out and back route around the brewery neighborhood. Enjoy a post-race party at the awesome Tejas Beer and Taproom with 4x 8oz tastings in your Tejas 5K finisher pint glass! Tejas Brewery has an awesome view of downtown H-Town, high quality kitchen with an awesome menu for those who want to purchase food after the run.
UPDATE: we are running a different course than last year, due to hike and bike trails along the bayou being closed to events while construction is in the area. We will runthree 1-mile loops, starting and finishing in the Tejas parking lot. At start, we will run from Tejas parking lot and head east (R) on Summer, north (L) on Johnson, west (L) on Crockett, south (L) on Taylor St and east (L) on Summer. So, in a nutshell, we are running a counter-clockwise loop around Summer, Johnson, Crockett, and Taylor times three. First and second loop will you will run past Tejas, staying on Summer. After third loop you will finish in the Tejas parking lot under the RIT company finish arch. All loops will be lead by a cabana boy wearing a yellow safety vest on the RIT company bicycle. Traffic support will be 17 HPD officers along the loop. So it will be the SAFEST mile loop in the world at that time. BONUS: be sure to run over the mat after each loop and you’ll get your splits for each mile! Runners will have access to an aid station with water and sports drink on each loop and at the finish line.

Awards
Top male and female overall and master (40 and up) winners will receive custom awards designed just for beer lovers! Custom awards also go to the top three male and female in the following age groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and up. YOU WILL LOVE THESE AWARDS. We will hold a random drawing for souvenir awards after the competitive award ceremony.
Packet Pick Up
- Friday, May 29 at Tejas, 2101 Summer St, Houston, TX 77007, from 4 – 7 p.m.
- And race day, May 30, at Tejas from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.
Parking
The Tejas main lot, Lot A, will have limited spots available, then there is lots of parking in Lot B at the corner of Henderson and Winter St. If you park in Lot B, there is a Tejas back corner entrance that will be open at the corner of Henderson and Winter St.
