Packet Pick up

Packets can be picked up at Houston Fleet Feet on Woodway on Thurs, 5-16 from 10AM-6PM and at Fleet Feet in the Woodlands on Friday, 5-17 from 10AM-4PM. Packets may be picked up at Lake Houston Park on race day 6:15-8:15PM.

About The Chupacabra 5K/10K Night Trail Run

 This is a night time trail run starting at 8:30PM followed by a killer post race party.  We will start and finish at a pavillion at Lake Houston Park.  Post race party will be held at the start / finish area.   The course runs through heavily wooded dirt trails in pitch dark.  A flashlight or headlamp is required as the trails are pitch black.  It is up to you to provide your own quality lighting.  The trails can have many tree roots and an uneven surface, so paying attention to footing is critical.  Trails will be marked with glow sticks, directional arrows and tape in the trees.  There will be one water stop at the half way point.  All runners will recieve a post race party lasting until 1am, a name brand tech shirt, post race beer (for those of age), and BBQ as part of your entry. This is a fun run so no awards will be given but overall results and age group results will be posted.  Overnight camping is available and encouraged. Run in Texas wants you to drink responsibly.

Cut-off Time

The time limit for this race is 2 hours. We need all runners to complete the race or be back at the start/finish within this time limit. Your cut-off for the 1st water stop (3.1 Mi) will be 1 hour.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 281-359-2700 – 22675 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339.  $85.00 rate, single or double occupancy-one or two beds for Saturday night.  Please call and ask for the ”Chupacabra” event rate.

 Parking

All runners will enter through the park’s NEW main gate at 25840 FM 1485, 77357.    We will have a ‘RUN IN TEXAS EVENT’ banner on the road at the park entrance.

Please be aware that there are no refunds for this event.   We will be happy to arrange for you to get your race packet if you cannot make it.
